Golf Review
We have just returned from a 3 day golf tour arranged with Buchan and Byers and everything was organised to the highest standard. They covered every detail for our 3 day golfing trip and the selection of hotel, courses, travel and activities were perfect for what we needed and I would not hesitate to arrange another trip for next year with the company.
Golf first, Andrew and his team organised 3 courses for us to play at Nairn Golf Club, Dornoch Golf Club and Castle Stuart, all 3 courses were on our bucket list and they certainly did not disappoint. If you have not played these 3 courses make sure you do. They are all prepared to the highest standard and the views of Scotland in every direction are simply outstanding. We got Castle Stuart on what could be described as the perfect day, flat calm and the sun even had some heat in it for an April’s day. This allowed us to see the Moray Firth flat calm and the mountains in the back ground still snow capped from the winter. Prior to our first round at Nairn we had a Links shot clinic, this allowed the 4 of us to get some tips on playing links golf and how to deal with the differences from normal parkland course, this really was well received and Murray Urquhart (Nairn Golf Club Professional) dedicated time to each of us on and provided any assistance we needed.
Andrew and his team arranged for us to stay at the Kingsmill hotel in Inverness for the 3 days, really nice hotel and the service offered is of the highest standard, rooms were very clean and spacious and nothing was too much for the hotel staff to take care of. Nice bar area with an awesome selection of local whisky to heat you up after a long day on the course. On the Saturday night Buchan and Byers had a whisky tasting event arranged down at the Malt Room in Inverness where we spent an hour being talked through and tasting the different types of whisky made locally and the history behind each of them, how it was made and most importantly how it tasted – Great way to start a Saturday night in Inverness and highly recommended.
Just to reiterate, Buchan and Byers offered us a service I have never received before on any golf tour. This starts the moment you enquire about the tour to the moment it ends and they really can’t be any more accommodating and informative, this includes phone calls in advance to allow them to gauge what you are looking for out of your trip, information packs prior to departure listing the full itinerary for the duration, including history relating to the courses you will play.
