Golf

Prestwick

The history of Prestwick Golf Club stretches back over 160 years to a time when golf was in its infancy. In 1851, a group of 57 enthusiastic members, met at the Red Lion Pub and established the Open Championship. A true original Links layout and host to the first “Open Championship" in 1860.

Royal Troon

Host to the Open Championship, and a  real test of golfing ability. With the wind to contend with, and deep rough interspersed with gorse and broom, accurate shot making is essential. Players should make their scores on the outward nine, as the prevailing north-western wind can make the back nine extremely difficult.

Turnberry

The first purpose planned golfing resort in Britain, with an iconic hotel that houses travellers on romantic getaways to its therapeutic shores to this day. Epic links that were built, destroyed and rebuilt again. Also a former host to the 'Open Championship'.

Western Gailes

For many golfers, this renowned course of the Ayrshire coast, just north of Troon, gets pretty close to pure links heaven. Sand hills and sea views abound as you tackle one glorious links hole after another. The links dates back to 1897 and still has quite a traditional feel.

Glasgow Gailes

Its West Coast setting and fabulous condition makes it ideal for summer and winter golf in Scotland. It is a world class links course which attracts players from every corner of the globe. Gailes Links is a championship links course in Ayrshire close to Open venues at Royal Troon and Turnberry.

Dundonald

This Kyle Philips designed links course offers a rewarding experience for golfers of all levels. Host to the European Tour 2017 Scottish Open Championship, Dundonald Links has gone from strength to strength.
